Development Team Manager, Partner Development

The Partner Development team plays a crucial role in scaling Veikkaus software development by managing domestic and international product development partnerships. The team ensures efficient collaboration by aligning internal needs with partner capabilities while continuously improving and unifying software development practices and ways of working.

In addition to fostering strong partnerships, the team is responsible for developing strategies to enhance cooperation, optimizing resource allocation, and overseeing budget distribution. Their efforts are directly guided by Veikkaus’s growth and operational development strategies, ensuring that external collaborations contribute effectively to the company’s overall success.

We’re searching for a Development Team Manager, Partner Development to lead our team of Partner Development specialists and play a key role in the Gaming Product Development unit leadership team. In this role, you will drive strategic development initiatives while supporting your team in their areas of responsibility. You will be responsible for guiding and optimizing day-to-day operations, ensuring effective partner management, and contributing to the company’s broader transformation goals. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing Daily Operations: Ensure that all team members, including yourself, can perform at their best while maintaining a healthy work-life balance by overseeing daily operations and continuously optimizing workflows to support common goals.
  • Providing Operational Guidance: Support the team in resolving challenges and removing blockers to optimize partner collaboration and development processes, enabling both partners and internal teams to perform at their best.
  • Enhancing Processes: Work closely with software architects to analyze and refine operational processes related to partner collaboration, improving productivity and the quality of partnership outcomes.
  • Enabling Data-informed Decisions: Define, monitor, and report on KPIs and OKRs related to partner collaboration, helping us stay aligned with our goals and informed by meaningful metrics.
  • Leading Continuous Improvement: Initiate improvements that blend operational and technical perspectives to enhance partner collaboration and keep our development environment evolving.

What we’re looking for:

We need someone with experience in international software partner development combined with strong planning and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset that values continuous improvement and knows how to drive partner collaboration processes that empower our teams to achieve their best work.

You’ll be successful in this role if you have:

  • Natural problem-solver with a focus on getting things done and prioritizing tasks that need attention
  • Experience in managing partner development operations in a software-driven environment, with global business exposure and a strong international mindset
  • Background in managing a team of technical talent with a deep understanding of challenges the technical teams face
  • Strong proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively both in technical discussions and informal interpersonal conversations
  • A data-driven mindset for setting and measuring key metrics (KPI, OKR) to track partnership productivity and progress
  • Hands-on experience in building and following up on various budgeting and resourcing scenarios using Excel and similar tools
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills to inspire confidence, ensure alignment, and drive effective teamwork within leadership teams and across different groups
  • Willingness to work at the Veikkaus offices at least of 3 times a week
