Development Manager, Data as a Service
We’re looking for a Development Manager to lead and drive our Data as a Service (DaaS) module, an important part of our overall data platform offering. You’ll be responsible for defining and managing the roadmap for a team of 15 skilled data engineers. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our commercial products. The position is permanent and full-time.
Our data platform operates in a modern cloud environment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), utilizing advanced technologies such as BigQuery, Kafka, Pentaho, and Apache NiFi. We continuously evaluate and adopt newer technologies when they mature and offer clear advantages, ensuring our platform remains reliable, scalable, and forward-looking.
In this role, you’ll create and maintain the product plan for DaaS, including product strategy, feature structure, roadmap, business case, and value proposition. You will work closely with key stakeholders, such as data platform users, business stakeholders, product managers, and potentially B2B customers. Collaboration with our Design Manager, who acts as the Product Owner for the development teams, is also an important part of your role. The specifics of this cooperation will be agreed together based on what fits best.
As a member of the unit’s steering group, you’ll align closely with architects, product owners, and leadership to ensure the product direction meets both business and customer needs. Your responsibilities will include strategic planning, prioritization, and ensuring transparent communication about product progress and challenges.
This position suits someone who enjoys strategic product management and close collaboration in an agile setting, and who wants to have a real impact on how our products and platforms are developed.
You’ll succeed in this role if you have:
- A proactive mindset and the ability to drive initiatives forward independently
- Strong technology background, ideally supporting data engineering or platform engineering teams in a product-driven environment
- Experience in product management or product-oriented leadership roles, particularly in data or platform products
- Solid experience applying Agile methods in product development environments
- Good collaboration and leadership skills to build trust, clarify direction, and effectively guide teams
- Availability to work from our offices at least twice a week
Joining us means stepping into a collaborative environment that values well-being, autonomy, and accountability while offering competitive benefits. You’ll play an active role in developing products for global markets, contributing to solutions that have a real impact on an international scale. Our head office in Pohjois-Haaga offers an engaging workspace, complemented by flexible remote work options to support a balanced and fulfilling working life.
