Backend Developer

We are looking for a Backend Developer to a team with friendly, easy-going and cheerful individuals. The position is permanent and full-time.

You will be working in Player Management team at Gaming Product Development unit which is a forerunner in applying new technologies and creating excellent digital services for our customers. Your team will be working with continuous product development with modern techniques, pushing others and yourself to succeed and broaden their skillset. At Veikkaus development teams do not only create code but they also design, create, implement and maintain the systems from the very beginning.

Focus in this role is in customer information system and microservices – including session handling and strong identification – around it using Scrum framework. Veikkaus has 2,5 million customers who use our services over a million times a week. As a developer you’re responsible for the future of those services as well as designing and implementing new systems.

Team is highly experienced and it values team skills such as communication, listening, problem solving and critical thinking. We are serious about team work, quality and modern technologies but take almost nothing that seriously. Team motto is Ask and you shall be answered to.

We would love to hear from you if you are:

  • All about teamwork
  • Eager to improve and enhance your skills in a tech or in a team
  • Have min. 3 years of professional experience with:
    • JVM programming languages such as Java and/or Kotlin
    • AWS Cloud such as EKS, ECS, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda
  • Basic understanding of GDPR requirements
  • Proficient to work with English language, Finnish is a considered as a plus
