Unity Developer – Dream Blast ROVIO / Helsinki Metropolitan Area
PUBLISHED: October 7, 2021
Rovio’s Puzzle Studio has their sights set on becoming the most successful casual puzzle game studio in the world. Exploring new and emerging trends in puzzle games, the studio has built a deep understanding of the puzzle genre and its players since its founding in 2014. The studio has introduced innovations in puzzle game core with the free-flowing Angry Birds Dream Blast, and the narrative-driven Small Town Murders, as well as providing players with exciting new content and events in fan-favorite games such as Angry Birds Friends. With their games, Puzzle Studio aims to create a true emotional connection that stays with players even when they’re not playing.
We are looking for experienced and passionate Game Developers to join our successful Puzzle Studio in Espoo, Finland. Our vision is to build puzzle games that are easy and fun to play but also provide deep meta-game with social elements that keeps them fresh and interesting to play for years. Join us to develop new groundbreaking F2P hits and keep improving our already world class puzzle games!
Angry Birds Dream Blast is very similar to a match game, but the gameplay is very special, because the objects must be matched by making them near each other rather than in a column. Each level is filled with all different colored bubbles that bounce around according to the standard laws of physics, so anytime you pop a bunch of them, the rest scatter and bounce away in turn. The game was launched in January 2019.
In this role you will work in a cross-functional team consisting of artists, designers, and other developers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include prototyping and implementing game features together with other developers in the team. You will be collaborating with server developers for seamless backend integration as well as optimizing the games to run smoothly on mobile platforms. You will be where the action happens, solving challenging problems that may occur while at the same time having an impact on a game that is played by millions. We value supporting each other and communicating with honesty and respect, and we hope that you share these values. Together we will work together to craft joy for our players.
