Yes, we know ads are not exciting; but the technology that powers ads in more than 150 000 games, for close to one billion users worldwide is seriously cool. Unity Ads enables mobile game developers to make a living doing what they love – making games – by monetizing their entire player base with gaming ads for gamers. Trusted by large publishers and indies alike, we’re proudly built by Unity and focus strongly on gaming. Unity Ads can deliver significant revenue to our developers by providing engaging, non-intrusive user-initiated video ads.

The Unity Ads data science and BI team is responsible for the machine learning optimization of the Unity Ads network, and visualizing data for internal product and business users. As part of the team you will be working closely together with the product team to support our data driven product development, business developers and account managers to create the data visualizations and tools they need, big data engineers responsible for the data architecture, and data scientists developing optimization and machine learning algorithms.

What’s in it

The main focus of your role will be on providing ads and gaming analytics related BI services to internal and external users and product development:

  • Developing metrics, methodology, and tools for ads and gaming analytics
  • Defining and implementing metrics and meaningful visualizations for internal reporting
  • Being responsible for BI data quality and timely delivery
  • Understanding business questions and challenges and relating them to the data
  • Doing complex ad-hoc analysis from masses of data, including formatting and preparing the data if necessary
  • Proactively identifying problems and developing new methodology for utilizing data

What does it take

  • BI or data analysis education (e.g. MSc in computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, business, or equivalent)
  • Prior experience from F2P game analytics, mobile user acquisition or online advertising
  • Experience with BI and visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, Periscope, Airflow, Pentaho
  • Familiarity with big data and advanced statistical analysis related concepts, issues and technologies (e.g. AWS, Spark, confidence intervals, predictive modelling) is a plus
  • Basic programming skills (e.g. Python)
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in English
